Ieva Gribuste
Chiropractic in Riga

About me
Hello, my name is Ieva!
My chiropractic journey began in the UK where I received a "Master of Chiropractic" degree after years of studies.
During my work experience in various clinics, I have seen the positive effects that chiropractic has on a person's physical and mental health.
After 8 years of practice in the UK, I have returned to Latvia to use my skills and knowledge to help people.
I have studied and mastered various techniques
in practice, so when I work with an individual client, I can adapt my approach depending on what the person needs.
In order to achieve the best results together, I think that the client's own desire to work on themselves is essential, so I often recommend exercises or other lifestyle tips to do at home.

What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a part of alternative/ holistic therapies.
The main aim of the chiropractor is to assist your body in improving its physical and emotional state. During the session, your chiropractor will work with subluxations (fixations of the spine) that build up as a result of physical traumas, stress, a sedentary lifestyle, and other problems.
An increase in joint mobility often leads to various improvements including posture, muscle tone, general flexibility increase, and even a reduction of the symptom intensity.
Issues that can be managed through chiropractic:
-
Headaches and migraines
-
Postural issues
-
Back pain and neck pain
-
Jaw tension and pain
-
Hand/feet pins and needles
-
Shoulder and knee issues
-
Pelvic/hip issues
-
Coccyx area discomfort
-
Arm and leg pain
-
General tension and stiffness
and other conditions
Chiropractic is often used as a prevention to reduce the risk of joint-related issues in the future, especially for those working in environments of high physical and emotional stress or sedentary lifestyles.
As chiropractic studies consist of various medical courses, your chiropractor will inform you if further medical testing is recommended and if a medical professional is more suitable for your case.

What happens during the screening? In the first visit, Ieva will listen to your problem and the goals you want to achieve using chiropractic. After taking a health history, functional tests and postural analysis will be performed to understand what technique should be used and what needs to be done to improve the body's optimal function. The chiropractor will tell you the conclusions and go through all the questions you are interested in, including the action plan, possible results and prices. Subsequent visits are a continuation of the first, where exercises or other recommendations may already be recommended.
-
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt?Chiropractic correction is generally painless, but in some cases, when someone already has a high degree of pain or general tension before the visit, a slight discomfort is possible, which does not last long. Especially after the first times of correction, exacerbations or intensification of certain symptoms are possible, which pass within 1-4 days, when the body has adapted to the changes.
-
How many visits does it take to feel the difference?According to experience, there is no such number of "perfect times", but the first changes can be felt after 4-6 times of correction (sometimes sooner, sometimes later), watching how quickly the body gets used to and accepts the changes. The process is accelerated by self-care at home, stress reduction, and good nutrition.
-
Can I bring X-rays or MRIs with me?Yes, studying and working in the UK, chiropractors are trained to take and read x-rays, so I would be happy to see any radiology or MRI images related to back conditions.
-
Do I have to "crunch" the neck part, even if I'm a little scared?Working with fixations in the neck area is a very popular chiropractic approach that can relieve tension in conditions such as migraines, headaches and general tension. HOWEVER, it is NOT an integral part of chiropractic, so if there is any kind of anxiety about the visit and the therapist himself, Ieva will adjust using a different technique to make the experience comfortable.
-
Do you work with insurance companies?Unfortunately, chiropractic is currently an unregulated profession in Latvia, which means that we are not in the register of official therapies, therefore we do not cooperate with insurances, nor can we make diagnoses related to the field of medicine.
-
What should I wear to the session?During the session, the main thing is that the client himself is comfortable, so you can wear any kind of clothes. Sometimes big belts get in the way, but generally there are no restrictions. Do NOT bring a change of clothes or towels. If the client has no objections, Ieva often works with the foot/leg areas, so other times she will be asked to take off her shoes. PS And no, we are not afraid of holes in socks.
-
Are there any age restrictions? You will be welcome both from your childhood days and celebrating your 100th anniversary.
-
Where can I park my car while visiting? The nearest paid parking lot is Europark Latvia, A. Čaka Street 29, a 1-minute walk from us, and there are other streets around where you can park your car, looking at the capacity at that time.
